hardship

If you accumulate 12 penalty points (6 within two years of your test could result in revocation of your licence by the DVLA) then you are liable for disqualification if those points fall within a three year period unless you can establish “exceptional hardship”. The periods of disqualification are normally 6 months, 12 months and two years where you come once, twice and three times before the court for disqualification under these provisions.

Kaufmanlegal have saved numerous licences using exceptional hardship arguments over the years. Loss of a job may not be sufficient in itself but the hardship caused to other innocent parties (family, employers, employees etc.) may be relevant. You cannot use the same exceptional hardship argument more than once in relation to the same set of points.

testimonial
line
“Kaufman & Co. helped both myself and my clients when it seemed that our licences were at risk. It was their assured presence at court that gave me confidence when I had to appear before the Magistrates since which time I have referred my own clients to them”.
